Frank Odar is CEO and president of AER Group managing client relationships, marketing, and direct oversight of all operational departments of the business on a national basis. His entrée in cost segregation began over thirty years ago and since that time he has completed over 3,000 studies on many types of commercial and industrial grade properties including apartments, senior living communities, medical, aerospace, automobile dealerships, broadcasting, power generation, resorts, hotels, offices, retail, supermarket, food service, processing, warehousing, distribution, truck stops, pharmaceutical laboratory, light and heavy manufacturing, and recreational uses.
In addition to cost segregation, he is a qualified machinery and equipment appraiser and has performed Sales and Use Tax utility studies in multiple states. He is also a Certified Licensed Real Estate Appraiser in the State of Indiana and has testified as an expert witness and assists clients with IRS review and support based on his knowledge of IRS audit techniques, court cases, and revenue rulings.
Since 1985 Frank has worked in a professional tax consulting capacity with large valuation firms such as Valtec and Associates, Merrill Lynch Business Brokerage and Valuation, Arthur Consulting Group, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Bearing Point LLC. Projects were located both domestic and abroad with a diverse list of Fortune 500 clients. Frank developed a customized reporting data base that he uses today to efficiently sort estimating take-offs, perform allocations, and group assets into meaningful formats within the cost segregation report. Due to his Construction Engineering, Architectural, and Tax background coupled with his project experience, he has a diverse and thorough understanding of machinery and equipment and building system components related to cost segregation analysis and support.
